An open letter
Dear directors and shareholders of UK Column,
I am writing to you in relation to your broadcasts, ‘The Truth Movement is a Cult’ of Wednesday, 15th July 2026 and ‘But Is AI Art, Art?’ of Thursday, 16th July 2026, which featured your employees Jeremy Nell and Jake Fern.
In this programming, the presenters discussed my recent essays in which I question the nature of cartoonist Bob Moran’s relationship with Ed Chanter, a man known online as ‘Ed the Techie.’
Jeremy Nell openly states, “I know nothing about Ed the Techie I don’t even know who that is.”
Jake Fern also admits that he had, “not met Ed...and knew of him only after he died.”
Nell and Fern then disparage any questions about the man they know nothing about.
As part of their discourse Jake Fern goes on to repeatedly describe me as, “paranoid,” and, “mentally ill,” before saying that I am exhibiting, “mental illness,” with which Jeremy Nell agrees.
Could you please let me know of Jake Fern and Jeremy Nell’s medical qualifications in making such a diagnosis? If they are in possession of the relevant qualifications is it normal practice for such a diagnosis to be made without a clinical examination of the subject? My understanding is that UK Column purports to be a media outlet and not a medical one. Is it usual practice for your employees to perform individual medical diagnoses on your public broadcasts without concern for the confidentiality of your patients, and for any subsequent possible negative consequences?
I know you will have observed the many journalistic flaws in the broadcasts mentioned, which seem in opposition to the ideals of truth and freedom of inquiry that any independent media outlet might wish to uphold. Not least of these were the foul language used whereby I was characterised as, “being a dick,” and my work as, “throwing shit.” In many ways these programmes and their presenters fall beneath the journalistic and ethical standards UK Column has set for itself. I am sure you would not want people supposing that your employees are being tasked with defending people who have financial backers in common with your own.

Just chucking shit cos they're paranoid.
That's his argument, his objection. As if a truther movement should be completely unconcerned by infiltration, that even if people were wrong'uns, it wouldn't make any difference, cos we can all use our own discernment.
This is such a flawed argument. Francis's evidence would suggest that there is a network in place. And that it operates to promote certain voices, and to turn down the volume on others. And such infiltration isn't harmless, it can do enormous damage. Look at Trump. He's wasted ten years of people's lives by pretending he was going to do something and then not. And we are on a clock. this AI behemoth is bearing down on all of us, and what really have we done to try and stop it. Or rather, what have the leaders of the resistance been concerned about in these crucial few years. James D has spent two years hunting for Aleister Crowley's wand, Alistair Williams and Bob Moran have driven us slowly into a siding to do nothing. And these are some of the people we get out pointers from. on how to behave. If they as leaders of this things are unconcerned, maybe it's gonna be alright. But if they aren't actually playing a straight bat, then we've been properly had. Wasting time with them when we could have been having much more productive discussions about what to do.
As Miri says Francis, when you're over the target the paid operatives get quite nasty. And this is just the latest example.
I think the broadcast may well have backfired on Jake Fern. Both he and Jerm admitted they hadn't heard of Ed The Techie prior to Bob Moran's eulogy (even though Fern also lives in Brighton, the former city of residence of Ed). For him to call you 'paranoid' etc just for asking a few reasonable questions as to why Moran thought so much of Ed would not have made any sense to someone hearing about this for the first time.
Fern made a point of saying he 'doesn't do this for a living' as he's an artist but he's certainly put in a lot of time trying (and failing) to belittle you and anyone else that thinks Moran's actions don't add up.
It was also interesting that Fern said that 'everyone is doing the best that they can' (apart from you apparently). Jerm agreed and even said that Klaus Schwab and Bill Gates are not intentionally doing wrong, to which Fern agreed. This is the same line used by Alistair Williams and Delingpole about Michael Gove recently.
Fern came across as very pretentious and I can't see too many people, if any, agreeing with his take on things.
